Washington, DC – On Thursday, August 18, at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC Department of Human Services will announce a one-time payment of approximately $1,000 for families who are enrolled in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program. These payments to families are funded through the Pandemic Emergency Assistance Fund, a federal fund established by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Mayor Bowser will make the announcement during a TANF Employment Program hiring and resource fair.
