COVID-19 Operating Status

The DC Department of Human Resources’ Customer Care Center at 1015 Half Street, SE, will be physically closed to prevent the potential spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the District of Columbia. While residents and/or employees are unable to address their concerns in person, we are available by phone and email.

Emergency Child Care for Essential Government Employees

Because the coronavirus poses serious risks to public health and safety, the best option for families is to keep their children at home with them.

For workers employed at essential businesses, however, child care outside the home might be a necessity. The Bowser Administration is working to ensure that essential workers who need child care have options.

Your health and safety are of paramount concern to the District Government. Click for additional information on how you can reduce the risk of COVID-19 for yourself, your co-workers, the residents you serve, and your family. Employees can also feel free to contact the Department of Human Resources for questions on employment, leave, travel, healthcare, telework, and requirements for essential and emergency employees.

ALL District Government employees are expected to complete the online course entitled “Sexual Harassment Prevention for Employees.”

Welcome back to the Workplace

As we prepare to return to work, employees will find agencies have taken many steps to prepare workspaces for their return, but all employees need to do their part. Employees are required to follow COVID-19 best practices established by DC Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This video highlights best practices employees can easily follow in the workplace to protect themselves, coworkers, and customers.
